Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj

God and Saints work their miracles inside a human being. They inspire, motivate and guide a soul to turn towards spirituality as the only solace to inner discontentment and suffering. It is the Guru who transforms a soul so that he is deserving of God's Grace. Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj, the embodiment of such divine grace, worked tirelessly for ninety years, uplifting souls and pioneering a spiritual uprising not seen since the descension of the Shree Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in the 15th century.

Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj, the fifth original Jagadguru in Indian history, the embodiment of the nectar of divine love, was one of the foremost rasik saints who showered the bliss of raganuga bhakti on souls the world over.

He revealed the most sublime spiritual knowledge that remained abstruse and inaccessible for many millennia, and distributed it so munificently in this age of media that he inundated the earth with it. On the irrefutable authority of all the Vedic scriptures, he established selfless divine love for Radha Krishna as the highest ideal to strive for in our lives.

In Kaliyuga (the present Dark Age), when an increasing number of imposters started misguiding the general public with falsely interpreted scriptural teachings and philosophies, scholars recognised the need to identify a divine personality who has unparalleled mastery over all Vedic scriptures and who spiritual aspirants can go to with the assurance that they will receive the true knowledge of the scriptures. They decided to call such a personality “Jagadguru”.

The importance of this title can only be put into perspective by acknowledging the fact that in the last 5000 years, only four descended divine personalities have been given the title of the original Jagadguru – Adi Jagadguru Shankaracharya, Jagadguru Nimbarkacharya, Jagadguru Ramanujacharya and Jagadguru Madhvacharya.

On 14th January 1957, Kashi Vidvat Parishat invited Shri Kripaluji Maharaj to deliver lectures. Kashi Vidvat Parishat was the body of 500 topmost scholars of Vedic literature who collectively represented the seat of spiritual learning.

Shri Maharaj Ji spoke for ten days revealing the secrets of the Hindu scriptures. He reconciled the apparent contradictions between the various Vedic scriptures, and the differences between the views of the previous Jagadgurus, to reveal the true path to God-realisation for the welfare of all humankind.

With profound admiration, the scholars accepted that his knowledge was deeper than the combined knowledge of all 500 of them put together. They unanimously acclaimed him as Jagadguru, the Spiritual Master of the world. They further added that he was “Jagadguruttam,” or Supreme amongst all the Jagadgurus.

Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj not only validated His teachings and discourses to be the only true eternal philosophy of God by citing the Vedas and the Vedic Scriptures, but He also revealed and explained the facts and intricate secrets buried in these Divine Scriptures in the simplest manner through everyday examples experienced by individual souls, that would otherwise be incomprehensible for an ordinary person.

The Vedas are the topmost treasure amongst all scriptures in the Hindu religion and are eternal, boundless and are in fact the Divine words of God Himself. Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj manifested the quintessence of all Vedic Scriptures by revealing and establishing the easiest path to God Realisation – the true goal of every individual soul.

Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj neither made any disciples nor did He form any ethnic group. With due respect to all existing philosophies and religions in the world today, He established selfless devotion to Radha-Krishna as the only true eternal path for the individual souls to attain the ultimate goal of life – God Realisation.

Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj validated all existing philosophies of Spiritual Masters from the past, and at the same time, He presented His own philosophy in the simplest form, which reconciled all contradictory viewpoints and discrepancies found in the existing philosophies and scriptural teachings.

Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj not only had complete authority over the Vedas and the Vedic Scriptures, but was also the embodiment of Divine Love Bliss, and hence was honoured with the title of “Bhaktiyogarasavatar”. In the current dark age (Kaliyuga), He made the Divine Love of Radha-Krishna flow into even the most sinful hearts, proving Him to be Bhaktiyogarasavatar (an embodiment of Divine Love Bliss).

“Shree Maharajji,” as he is lovingly called by his devotees, chose the auspicious night of Sharad Poornima in October 1922 to descend on planet earth, in a tiny hamlet called Mangarh, close to the holy city of Prayag (Allahabad). Mangarh is also very close to Shringaverpur, another holy spot where Lord Ram enacted one his very important divine past times

during His descension in Treta yug.

His mother Bhagvati Devi & father Lalita Prasad named Him Ram Kripalu at birth.

Shree Maharajji, was a prodigious student and excelled in his studies whilst remaining as active and naughty as a child would normally be. He completed

much of his scholastic duties at the early age of 15, earning his degree in sanskrit literature & history as Vyakaranachrya (Master of Sanskrit Grammar).

Few know that he had also been awarded the degree of Kavyatirtha in 1942 he also received his degree as Ayurved Acharya (Master of Ayurved) from Delhi Vidyapeet

in 1943 and Sahitya Acharya (Master of History) from Calcutta Vidyapeet in 1943.

Even during his study period, Shree Maharajji revealed his divine state by conducting long sessions of devotional chanting, naam sankirtan called akhanda sankirtan (non-stop chanting) for days together. At times, they would even go on

for weeks & months.

Many have witnessed Shree Maharajji's continuous state of ecstatic divine chanting. Remaining deeply engrossed in the divine love of Radha Krishna, as though in a trance, he would reveal many states of bhav or devotional sentiments that would parallel and bring remini-scences

-scences of the state that Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, revealed 500 years ago.
